Scouting Report: Josh Sewell

Scouting Report: Josh Sewell

Name: Josh Sewell School Nebraska Year 5Sr
Ht: 6-1.5 Wt: 301 40: 5.1 Pos: C

Bio: Former Indiana State transfer who previously backed up at both center and guard before moving into the starting position as a senior.

Pos: Hard working, explosive blocker on the pivot who stepped up in 2003. Quick off the snap, jolts opponents with good hand punch and a knee bender that gets underneath defenders. Solid position blocker that walls defenders from the action. Explosive in all his actions and a hard worker that spends a lot of time in the weight room.

Neg: Lacks bulk on the inside, does not adjust well nor is he effective on the second level. Lacks footwork and not comfortable in space.

Analysis: Topping off a terrific senior campaign with a good performance at the Combine, Sewell turned himself into a legitimate NFL prospect the past twelve months. Stands to add more bulk but don't be surprised if Sewell is starting a few years down the road.
