Scouting the Holiday Bowl for NFL talent
California Lorenzo Alexander/DT/76/4Sr: Tough, explosive interior lineman who plays with excellent balance and leverage. Lacks the great size and but does offer good upside for the next level. J.J. Arrington/RB/30/4Sr: Undersized yet explosive ball carrier coming off a terrific senior campaign. Quick through the hole and works runs. May not be a running back for everyone yet at the very least a solid third down back\situational runner for the next level. Chase Lyman/WR/43/4Sr: Big, physical receiver that was starting to take his game to another level as a senior until an injury put him on the sidelines. Likely to go undrafted yet will get a look next summer in camp. Jonathan Makonnen/WR/5/5Sr: Consistent pass catcher that is solid yet unspectacular. Best shot would be as a team's fifth wide out. Geoff McArthur/WR/6/5Sr: Reliable wide out with consistent hands and a receiver that performs in the big spot. Lacks the top size\speed numbers and presently on the sidelines with a leg injury. Unlikely to be drafted due to the inability to workout or will go very late yet could be a productive third receiver at the next level. Ryan Riddle/DE/90/4Sr: Junior college transfer who stepped up mightily as a senior. Terrific athlete slowly transferring those skills onto the football field. Excellent pass rusher. Aaron Rodgers/QB/8/3Jr: Terrific quarterback prospect for the next level. Possessed excellent physical skills as well as a mental understanding of the position. Has been on a straight line up the past two seasons and an early pick in April's draft if he decides to leave college. Game is perfectly suited for a west coast offense. Tom Sverchek/DT/72/5Sr: Tough as nails line prospect that always gives top effort. Previously bothered by injuries and still needs to develop his game. Has potential on the offensive line. Texas Tech Cody Campbell/G/64/5Sr: Explosive blocker who possesses strength and the ability to slide laterally. Works to bend his knees but lacks adjustment and has difficulty with nimble opponents. Adell Duckett/DE/91/5Sr: Athletic pass rusher best off the edge. Quick and can change direction yet does not always go 100%. Dylan Gandy/C/77/5Sr: Tough blocker who plays with a nasty attitude. Has done well in limited starting experience. Nehemiah Glover/WR/6/4Sr: Quick little receiver who has potential as a return specialist. Daniel Loper/T/60/5Sr: Nice sized tackle with a good head for the position. Patient and a solid position blocker yet a limited athlete best in confined quarters.
