Prospect Profile: Art Brown
Ht: 5-8.5 Wt: 205 40: 4.68 Year: 5Sr
Bio: Former starter used in a reserve role as a senior posting 58/250/1 on the ground while adding 15/68/1 catching the ball. Missed the entire ‘03 season with a torn ligament in his right knee. Posted career ground numbers of 214/1,029/14 as a junior in ‘02.
Positives: Tough ball carrier best between tackle. Runs low to the ground, sees the field and quickly finds the cut back lanes. Effective in the open field. Quick and immediately gets to top speed. Patient, waits for blocks to develop then follows them.
Negatives: Not a ball carrier who breaks many tackles. Cannot run to daylight. Has a history of injuries which caused him to miss action.
Analysis: Looking like a solid prospect off his junior campaign, Brown has been slow to return to form after recent struggles with knee injuries. Could be used as a fullback or short yardage runner but must stay healthy.
