Scouting C-USA: Central Florida
Tight end Darcy Johnson is a solid prospect effective as a blocker or
pass catcher. Johnson creates mismatches in the defensive secondary and is a
solid athlete who makes the one-handed acrobatic catch down the field. Blocking
with leverage, Johnson stays square and keeps his feet moving in pass
protection. Needing to improve his overall blocking strength, Johnson presents
himself as a potential third tight end at the next level. Receiver Brandon Marshall is a wide out with outstanding size and a prospect who could
eventually develop into a tight end. Using his frame to shield away opponents,
Johnson out-muscles defenders and displays ability blocking downfield. Lacking
top playing speed, he may have opportunities as a slot receiver early in an NFL
career.
Defensive end Paul Carrington is a hard working lineman who
tenaciously pursues the action. Possessing only a short area burst of speed,
Carrington has a tall slender build and must add bulk to his frame to have any
chance of making it in the NFL.
