Scouting C-USA: Tulane
On offense tight end Bobby Hoover is a nice sized player adequate as a
pass catcher or blocker. Not standing out in any aspect of the game, his only
chance would be as a number three tight end for an NFL team. Junior quarterback Lester Ricard is a big-armed passer who easily gets the ball downfield, putting the
deep throw in front of targets and letting them run to the ball. Patient, he
zips the outs with a quick release, immediately getting the ball to the intended
pass catcher. Ricard does not always find the safety nor display great pocket
sense. He has the physical skills to be a draft pick in 2007 yet must take his
game to another level.
Linebacker Anthony Cannon is a speedy prospect, fast enough to cut off
the flanks from opposing ball carriers. Getting depth on drops, he is
disciplined in pass coverage and displays a good head for the ball. Undersized,
Cannon is swallowed up by opponents and slow getting off blocks. He has
potential on the weak side in a number of NFL defensive schemes.
