NFL Draft Scouting Report: Josh Betts

Josh Betts/QB/Miami-Ohio

Full Name:  Josh Betts  School  Miami-Oh

Ht:   6-1  Wt  215  40: 4.9

Pos: Athletic passer with a solid intermediate arm.  Goes through receiver progressions, has a quick release and zips the pass between defenders.  Effective when he buys time and goes to the underneath route.  Tough and will take a hit in order to get the ball off.  Throws with an over-the-top delivery.  Nicely places passes in the short or intermediate field.

Neg: Cannot drive the deep ball.  Releases the pass off his back foot or steps out of throws and usually high of the mark.  Must improve his downfield accuracy.  Takes most of his snaps out of the shotgun.

Analysis: A prospect with the physical talents to play at the next level, Betts must round out his entire game and become more quarterback then the thrower he presently is.
