athlete who stared at cornerback early in his college career before moving
to receiver as a senior. Fast, displays a burst of speed as well as excellent
ball skills. Fluid transitioning off the line, quickly plants then breaks to
the throw. Has quarterbacks looking away
from him. Solid job reading and recognizing plays.
Neg: Gives
a large cushion at the line of scrimmage. Gets tall in his backpedal. Marginal
strength at the point of attack and would rather knock down then wrap up ball
carriers.
Analysis: A
nice sized prospect with good cover skills, Blackmon offers a large degree of
upside for the next level. Must polish his game as
a season away from the cornerback position
will hurt his progress and draft ranking.
