We take a look at the top fantasy performers for week number 14.

QUARTERBACKS

Seattle Seahawk coach Mike Holmgren may choose to bench Matt Hasselbeck for the last couple weeks of the regular season, but H-beck pleased his fantasy owners in week 14...the Seahawk QB threw for four TDs in a rout over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Michael Vick completed only 12 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown against the Saints on MNF, but his two rushing TDs combined with 38 rushing yards lofted Vick to second of our fantasy QB stars. New England dominated Buffalo at home thanks to Superbowl MVP Tom Brady and his 329 passing yards and three TDs (one of them rushing). Drew Bledsoe's 332 yards passing and three scores were just enough for the Cowboys to get by the Chiefs in a must game for the 'Boys. Drew Brees had another nice fantasy game and completed 35 of 52 for 279 yards to go along with three total TDs by Brees, but the Dolphins surprised the Chargers on the scoreboard and hurt San Diego's playoff chances. The Indianapolis Colts won their 13th straight game of the season thanks in part to Peyton Manning's 324 passing yards and his two TD throws to teammate Marvin Harrison. Peyton's brother Eli had very similar numbers in the Giants' win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but Eli Manning ran for one of his two scores. David Garrard (filling in for injured Byron Leftwich) tried to keep the game close against the Colts with a passing TD, a rushing TD, and a two-point conversion. Gus Frerotte threw two touchdowns in an impressive Dolphins' win over the San Diego Chargers. Trent Green threw for 340 yards against the Cowboys, but could have used another late touchdown to avoid the last second loss.

RUNNING BACKS

There is a new Chief in Kansas City...and his name is Larry Johnson. LJ may have been on a losing NFL team this weekend, but his 171 total yards and three touchdowns helped his fantasy owners to victories. Tiki Barber continued as a versatile one-man gang as he ran and caught for 195 total yards and a touchdown in a win over the Eagles. Domanick Davis and the Houston Texans lost another game and look like a lock for the top pick in the 2006 NFL draft, but Davis again remained a bright spot for Houston with his 189 total yards and a TD. Rudi Johnson and Samkon Gado led the Bengals and Falcons to wins and had nearly exact numbers with their 180 total yards and a TD apiece. Tampa Bay won a critical game over the Carolina Panthers thanks to Cadillac Williams' 116 yards and two TDs. Ryan Moats filled in nicely for injured Brian Westbrook...Moats rushed 11 times for 114 yards and two TDs in the Eagles' loss to the Giants. Jerome Bettis looked like a snowplow through the Chicago Bears' top ranked defense as he busted through for 101 yards and two TDs in a 21-9 Steelers' win. Corey Dillon and Shaun Alexander each had around 130 yards and a score in their teams' routs over the Bills and the 49ers. Clinton Portis and Thomas Jones both had scores and decent yardage, but neither was able to earn a victory for his team. Edgerrin James gained 154 yards from scrimmage to up his league leading total, but was unable to find the endzone against the Jags. Michael Bennett and Cedric Houston both gained 70+ yards on the ground and a score. Marion Barber, Willie Parker, Warrick Dunn, and Chris Brown all had over 100 total yards, but none of the the backs were able to find the endzone.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Terry Glenn continues to play like it's 1996...in addition to a rare rushing touchdown by a wide receiver, Glenn went off for Dallas with six grabs for 138 yards and a TD catch against the Chiefs. Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning continued to pad the record books with two Manning-Harrison touchdowns to go along with the 137 yards between the two against the Jags. Chris Chambers had another big receiving week with 121 yards and two touchdowns. Bobby Engram was Matt Hasselbeck's key target with two touchdowns against the 49ers. Mark Clayton and Jimmy Smith were both leaders in their passing games with multiple grabs for over 100 yards and a TD apiece. Eddie Kennison and Josh Reed each grabbed a TD, but neither the Chiefs nor the Bills were able to win the game. Joe Jurevicius enjoyed another fill-in week for Darrell Jackson in Seattle as he caught another TD, but Jackson may be back to the Seattle line-up by next week. Keenan McCardell had 58 yards and a TD in a loss to the Dolphins. Anquan Boldin had another big week from Kurt Warner with nine catches and 114 yards, but wasn't able to get across the goal line. T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Roy Williams each had 53 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Superstud fantasy wide receiver Steve Smith wasn't able to score over the weekend, but Smith still had five catches for 103 yards against the Buccaneers.

TIGHT ENDS

Antonio Gates continued his reign as the best tight end in football. Gates caught 13 balls for 123 yards to move him within three yards of 1000 for the year and also caught a his ninth TD of the season in the Chargers' loss to the Dolphins in Miami. Jason Witten continues to roll in his sophomore season...Witten's seven receptions for 93 yards and a score against the Chiefs helped lead the 'Boys to the victory. Jeremy Shockey was again huge in the Giants' passing game with his ten grabs for 107 yards. Tony Gonzalez may be seeing a changing of the guard at the top NFL tight end slot, but Gonzalez isn't falling far...Gonzalez' 94 yards on Sunday may not have been enough for the Chiefs to win the game, but certainly put a smile on the faces of his fantasy owners. Todd Heap caught five balls for 65 yards for the Ravens. Jerramy Stevens, Steve Heiden, Christian Fauria, and Dan Campbell had minimal yardage for their teams, but all were able to get into the endzone for a touchdown.

News and Notes - The Chicago Bears gave up touchdowns 12, 13, and 14 against the Steelers and looked mortal in the loss, but coach Lovie Smith feels that rookie quarterback played well enough to get the start in week 15 over Rex Grossman...The Indianapolis Colts increased their record to a perfect 13-0 in a convincing win over their divisional foe Jacksonville...The Chargers may have been looking beyond Miami to their final three games to make the AFC playoffs, and it was the Dolphins that stung the Chargers in week 14 to weaken their playoff chances...Brad Johnson has led the Vikes to six straight and knocking on the playoff door (and only one out of the lead for the division)...Edgerrin James had 154 total yards against the Jags, but it was Tiki Barber's 195 yards against the Eagles that allowed him to move ahead of Edge 1749 to 1743 for the NFL lead in total yards from scrimmage for the season - James is second to Alexander's 1496 rushing yards with 1440...Colts' coach Tony Dungy is saying he'll let his players play for at least the Chargers game this weekend and is making a run at an undefeated season...Brian Westbrook was placed on injured reserve this week, thus ending his season...Marshall Faulk caught balls for 32 yards on Sunday moving him to first on the NFL's all-time list for receiving yards by a running back with 6081...Brett Favre has thrown for over 3000 yards for his 14th consecutive season, breaking Dan Marino's record...N.Y. Jets' RB Curtis Martin is done for the season with knee surgery...Isaac Bruce caught his 800th pass and moved to 10th on the NFL's list in total receiving yards with 12,181
