Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Tight end Ray Thomas is a hard-working,
tough guy that likes to do the dirty work. He is quick of the snap, nasty,
looking to finish off his opponents and is not a bad pass catcher when the ball
is tossed in his direction, making plays down the field. On face value he
does not look as though he possesses the top size/speed numbers which may leave
him out in the cold but he will find his way into a camp.
Defensive end Calvin Pace has a real
chance to jump into the late frames, if not earlier. Pace is a tall and
athletic lineman that comfortably plays a two-gap position and smoothly moves
about the field, making plays in all directions. He plays with excellent
leverage and rarely off his feet. Pace is not a big bodied front-four
player and needs to add both bulk and strength, as he is easily wired by
opponents blocks. Factoring in his athletic skills, growth potential and
upside, Pace will get a lot of consideration next April. Pace's line-mate,
Montique Sharpe, is a hard working player on the nose that
scouts will chart next season.
