Chicago Bears
During our final mock draft we reported the Bears in all likelihood would try
and trade out of selection number 26. They eventually did and in the end came
away with a "boom or bust" draft from top-to-bottom. Danieal Manning is a talented defensive back who will impact as a return specialist
before finding a home as a starting safety. Devin Hester could add even
more playmaking skills returning punts and kicks while the teams tries to
develop into either a receiver or cornerback. Both players need a lot of time
and patience before either is NFL ready. Dusty Dvoracek fits Lovie Smith’s
system and adds a lot of intensity up front. He’ll work well in a rotational
system on the Bears front four. Likewise, Jamar Williams is a one-gap
linebacker with starting potential on the weak-side down the road and a solid
fit for Smith’s defense. Mark Anderson was great value and J.D. Runnels could turn into a find from round six.
Getting the 73rd pick of the draft from Buffalo to move down
sixteen slots was a good move by the Bears.
