The team has trio of skill players to keep
an eye on, starting with a pair of running backs.
Senior Ronnie McGill is a hard running ball carrier on the inside.
Quick footed, McGill waits for blocks to develop and will pick his spots. Breaking several tackles
during a single handoff, McGill does not go down without a fight.
A good senior campaign coupled with solid pre-draft workouts could push
him into the draft’s first day. Junior
Barrington Edwards is another powerful running back who breaks tackles
and picks up a lot yardage off contact. He
displays quickness through the hole yet is indecisive carrying the ball and must
complete his game. Receiver Jesse Holley is a nice sized prospect who consistently works to make himself an
available target and possesses reliable hands.
Holley is a late round choice who could make an NFL squad as a fourth
receiver.
Outside
linebacker Larry Edwards looks the part yet only plays to it
occasionally.
Presently a free agent prospect, Edwards must produce on a consistent
basis this season to be drafted in ’07.
