NFL Draft '07: Scouting Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt helmet

Posted Sep 1, 2006

With potentially the best player in the history of the program moving on to the NFL, expectations are now lowered for Vanderbilt. While the roster offers a few NFL-prospects none are of the early round variety.

The top senior prospect is offensive tackle Brian Stamper. A solid position blocker, Stamper is an intelligent lineman who controls opponents at the point of attack. Lacking top footwork he has marginal blocking range and will get late round consideration, probably at offensive guard. Junior Chris Williams is larger but also a small area blocker who gets beaten by speed and quickness. Size alone will get Williams consideration in 2008.
