During his weekly guest appearance on Sirius NFL Radio, 49ers head coach Mike Nolan talked about running back Frank Gore needing just 29 yards against the Denver Broncos to set a new single-season rushing record for the franchise. But for Nolan, there was something else about his star running back that was even more impressive to him than the record he's likely to set on Sunday.
"What I enjoy about Frank the most is that it is about winning [with him], he talks about winning. He'll do what it takes to win a game..."
Nolan and his team go up against a Denver Broncos squad on Sunday that can clinch a wildcard spot with a win. And he's impressed by what Jay Cutler brings to the table from a talent perspective, but also believes there's more to his success than just his own efforts at this point.
"I believe he's in a friendly system," he said. "Some credit goes to the coaches, I believe the surrounding cast of players he's got around him are good players."
Listen to the full interview, compliments of Sirius NFL Radio, as Nolan also talks about his disappointment over the situation with WR Antonio Bryant and his 4-game suspension, and the difference he hopes to see in his team next season.
