- In addition to wide receiver Kevin Curtis, the Titans had free agent WR Justin Gage in for a
visit Tuesday. Gage was seen as an upside receiver with size but he fell out of
favor of the Chicago coaching staff last season (he only caught four passes in
2006) and he was inactive for half of their regular season games.
Curtis, sources say, left Tennessee Tuesday evening to go back to his home in
Utah and will decide on where he'll be signing over the next few days.
- scout.com's Tony Pauline reports Clemson University DE Gaines Adams has a
visit coming up with the Minnesota Vikings. Minnesota has a major need for a
pass rusher so it's no surprise they're scheduling him for a visit.
- The New Orleans Saints had free agent WR Bobby Engram in for a visit on
Tuesday. The team could lose backup WR Terrance Copper who the Tennessee Titans
have their eye on according to The Nashville City Paper's Terry McCormick.
Copper, who is a restricted free agent, wouldn't cost any additional
compensation because he was signed originally as an undrafted free agent.
- League sources believe the Seattle Seahawks will look to sign restricted free
agent WR D.J. Hackett to an extension especially if they're able to trade WR
Darrell Jackson before the NFL Draft which takes place on April 28.
Because Hackett was given a second-round tender by Seattle, that seems to have
scared off potential suitors thus far. Teams have until April 20 to get
restricted free agents signed to offer sheets.
- The Denver Broncos had free agent DT Ian Scott in for a visit on Tuesday.
Scott is the second Chicago Bear defensive tackle to visit the team. Alfonso Boone visited earlier. Denver has a major need for an interior defensive lineman
with only Gerard Warren as the only solid player of that position on their
roster. Veteran DT Dan Wilkinson is seen as a backup and rotational player at
his point of his career.
