Baltimore Ravens - They selected Auburn University G Ben Grubbs but they did try
to move up to select Notre Dame University QB Brady Quinn. Backup QB Kyle Boller
is on the final year of his rookie contract so it should be no surprise that
Baltimore looked at trading up for his replacement.
Minnesota Vikings - While the team wound up selecting University of Oklahoma RB
Adrian Peterson with the seventh pick overall, LSU S LaRon Landry would have
been their second choice there. Had both been off of the board, league sources
indicated University of Michigan CB Leon Hall was next on their board. However,
it's not known if they would have traded down to select him. LSU WR Dwayne Bowe
also would have been a consideration had they traded down.
Philadelphia Eagles - As scout.com noted last week, the player that the
team wanted with their first-round pick was University of Miami S Brandon Meriweather. Once he was off the board, they traded out of the spot with the
Dallas Cowboys and selected University of Houston QB Kevin Kolb in the second
round.
Interestingly, league sources indicate the Eagles had Kolb higher on their draft
board than University of Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn.
Pittsburgh Steelers - They selected Florida St. University LB Lawrence Timmons
with their first-round pick but it's believed they did so because the New York Jets traded up to select University of Pittsburgh CB Darrelle Revis.
Tennessee Titans - According to foxsports.com's Jay Glazer, there was
a potential trade between the Titans and San Diego Chargers. The Titans, who
selected University of Texas S Michael Griffin, would send him to the Chargers
for RB Michael Turner or draft picks.
The Titans turned their attention to University of Arizona RB Chris Henry in the
second round after not making the deal with the Chargers who got their safety in
University of Utah's Eric Weddle.
Washington Redskins - Had LSU S LaRon Landry been off the board at No. 6
overall when they were ready to pick, the team might have traded down to select
Ohio St. WR Ted Ginn, Jr according to foxsports.com's Jay Glazer.
