Scouting
Report:
The
Good: Big, strong
armed passer with great stature coming off a terrible junior campaign. Quick setting up to deliver
the ball with solid footwork, stands strong in the pocket and immediately releases
the pass with a flick of the wrist.
Places his throws nicely; puts the ball in front of
receivers letting them run to the pass and has the pass in the wide outs hands as they
immediately leave their breaks on timing patterns. Active and athletic making plays in or out
of the pocket as a passer or ball carrier.
Pulls the ball down and takes off up the field
displaying strength running the ball with the ability to pick up yardage off initial
contact.
The
Bad: Throws a lot of passes of his
backfoot or steps out of the throw, all of which adversely effect
his accuracy. Relies on his arm
strength rather than proper throwing fundamentals to make
the pass and worse yet, gives you the idea he thinks his big arm can overcome poor decisions and makes a lot of
mental mistakes. Not always on the same
page as his
quarterback, misreads the defense and makes bad choices.
