Scouting Report: Lorenzo Diamond

Lorenzo Diamond

A productive collegiate tight end, Lorenzo Diamond has done the job for the Auburn Tigers since he was a red-shirt freshman, even though he's lost the limelight to bigger named skill players. How does he project to the next level and does he have a future in the NFL?

Scouting Report:

The Good:  Athletic tight end effective in a pass catching role.  Nimble, nifty and adjusts to the errant throw, extending nicely and pulling the ball out of the air.  Positions himself well against opponents, boxing defenders out and displaying focus throughout the action.  Solid hands. Blocks with good fundamentals using angles correctly and working to finish off defenders.

The Bad: Lacks strength at the point, does not block with balance nor is he quick off the line.

The Skinny:  Reminds us of a smaller version of former AU Tiger Fred Baxter and a late round choice that could compete as a second tight end at the next level. Recommended Stories
