Players Added
Brian St. Pierre/QB - He'll vie for the No. 3 role.
Jerame Tuman/TE - He's yet another former Steeler on their roster.
Travis LaBoy/OLB - He'll expected to replace Calvin Pace. LaBoy was seen as a
3-4 rush linebacker before he was drafted so playing standing up shouldn't be an
issue for him and the Cleveland Browns were very interested in signing him.
Clark Haggans/OLB - He'll get a chance to revive his career as a situational
pass rusher.
Players Lost
Tim Hasselbeck/QB - He's currently hosting shows on Sirius NFL Radio.
Tim Rattay/QB - The journeyman signal caller could be playing with his fourth
team in the last five seasons.
Bryant Johnson/WR - The former first-round pick was unable to compete for a
starting job with Arizona but will be able to do so with the San Francisco 49ers.
Keydrick Vincent/G - He started off his career well with the Pittsburgh Steelers
but his last three with the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona were a disappointment.
Vincent will compete for a starting job with the Carolina Panthers.
Oliver Ross/OT - He missed last season due to a torn triceps and was released
last month.
Ross Kolodziej/DT - The journeyman only played in three games last season due to
injury.
Rodney Bailey/DL - The versatile backup remains unsigned.
Calvin Pace/OLB - He found a huge payday with the New York Jets after having
just one solid season. The hope is that recently signed OLB/DE Travis Laboy will
be able to adequately replace him.
Terrence Holt/S - He turned out to be a free agent bust but found a new home
with the Carolina Panthers.
Bhawoh Jue/S - He only appeared in one game for the team last season and remains
unsigned.
Mitch Berger/P - The team signed Dirk Johnson to replace him.
Pre-Draft Team Needs
1) Cornerback - With the team's decision to move former
first-round pick Antrel Rolle to free safety, that leaves an opening at right
cornerback. While Eric Green is the projected starter there, he's coming off of
an inconsistent season to say the least. The bottom line is the team really
lacks a good cover cornerback.
2) Wide Receiver - Behind starters Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin the
team doesn't have anyone who is ready to handle the No. 3 role. And if either
starter got hurt, there's no viable candidate to replace them.
3) Running Back - Starter Edgerrin James clearly isn't the player
he once was plus he turns 30 before the regular season starts. The team should
address this situation now instead of waiting for future drafts. The team has
visited with East Carolina's Chris Johnson who at least would be a solid change
of pace to James.
4) Left Tackle - A team insider believes the team could use an upgrade
over starter Mike Gandy. While Gandy's a decent player, he's far from dominant.
