Flash Analysis |
Al Davis loves his game-breakers and Darren McFadden certainly fits the bill. While the Oakland Raiders backfield is crowded, Oakland felt it could not pass up on the player they felt was the best player in the draft, especially after spending so much on defense this offseason. McFadden has the speed to take any play to the house and elusiveness to make a slim hole seem big. The Arkansas back will team with franchise signal-caller JaMarcus Russell, last year's first overall pick, in what the Raiders hope will become a prosperous backfield. - Denis Savage, Silver and Black Illustrated

Adam Caplan's Take |
Despite having depth at the position, the team lacks having an explosive back on their roster who is capable of taking any carry for long distance. Look for Michael Bush to handle the power running for the team with McFadden handling the speed role. Both backs could form a great combination. Where Justin Fargas fits in, who signed a new deal recently, remains to be seen.
