It certainly wasn't sexy, and with Illinois tailback Rashard Mendenhall on the board, the selection of 6-6, 314-pound Gosder Cherilus won't be a popular pick. Detroit had a big need for a young offensive lineman that is capable of playing different positions. Cherilus could start out at right tackle but he's more than capable of moving to any guard spot if needed.
