VS
Army-Tulane
Army
Clarence Holmes/DT/99
-
plays with forward lean and
leverage
-
fluid change of direction
and quickly changes his angle of attack
-
moves well laterally to the
flanks
-
stays with the play and
works to make something positive happen
-
not quick or sudden
-
lacks strength at the point
of attack and very slow to shed
-
Comments: Hard
not to like Holmes; he is tough, relentless and smart all at the same time,
just the way you'd figure an Army football player would be. He is also
small and not an explosive player as well as one with a two year military
commitment. Unlikely to be drafted but we hope to see him playing at
the next level someday.
Tulane
Lynaris Elpheage/CB/13
-
disciplined, reads the
quarterback and solid in zone
-
fluid in his hips and
adequate break on the pass
-
will defend the run
-
productive return
specialist
-
has difficulty defending
larger wide outs
-
slow following pass
catchers back out of their breaks
-
a little stiff in his
backpedal
-
Comments: Could find a
home as a dime back/special teamer but will not be drafted.
JP Losman/QB/7
-
decent set-up and ball
placement dropping into the pocket
-
live arm; zips the
outs, drives the ball down field and all the throws have velocity
-
can throw on the move and
loses nothing
-
nimble and makes plays with
his legs
-
does not see, sense or
avoid the rush
-
must learn to throw with a
little touch
-
indecisive in the pocket
-
adequate accuracy, and
that's even a stretch
-
must do a better job of following
through over his top foot rather than stepping out of the throw or passing
off his backfoot
-
does a lot of
"pushing" the pass
-
Comments: Has the
physical tools but needs a lot of work on his fundamentals
Adrian Mitchell/S/14
-
solid backpedal and
footwork
-
decent lateral movement
skills
-
active and likes to get
involved in the action
-
disciplined and keeps the
play in front of him
-
quick to read/react
-
games lacks quickness, suddeness
and does not flash on the scene
-
Comments: Developing
prospect that must be watched.
Mewelde Moore/RB/26
-
good running vision; sees
the field and finds the running lanes
-
follows his blocks
-
works to set up defenders
and makes them miss in a small area
-
runs with forward leans and
attempts to finish his runs
-
a bit of a slasher that
slides off defenders
-
excellent receiver out of
the backfield
-
lacks the quick footwork or
ability to immediately cut it back against the grain
-
not overly elusive or a
back that'll make "something out of nothing"
-
Comments: Though
his offensive line is terrible, Moore does not nearly resemble the runner he was last season to
this point. Instead of being the focal point of the offense he's almost
an afterthought to the passing game. Needs to get it back on track.
Jeff Sanchez/CB/3
-
fluid, agile and light on
his feet
-
nice backpedal off the
line, smooth in his hips and losses nothing in transition
-
breaks down well
-
quick to the ball and
action
-
positions himself nicely
