Scouting Report: Tony Pape
Tony Pape
Tony Pape

Posted Nov 28, 2002

If there was one area where the University of Michigan has ample talent it is up front on the offensive line. Year after year they put a number of quality blockers into the NFL and in 2004 Tony Pape could be the next.

Full Name: Tony Pape      School: Michigan

Ht: 6-5    Wt  295   40:  5.34

Year: 4Jr           Number:   77

Scouting Report:

The Good:  The next great lineman coming out of Ann Arbor.  Blocks with forward lean, a wide base and strong at the point of attack.  Gets leverage on opponents and moves them off the line of scrimmage run blocking or holds his ground in pass protection.  Quick in his head, stays with the play, looking to finish off or destroy defenders.

The Bad: Lacks adjustment and sustains blocks for only a short period.

The Skinny:  To this point, without really delving into the film from 2002, looks to be a potentially better pass blocking version of Jon Jansen.
