Is it just a matter of time before Shaun Alexander and other big name players find a job? Would Daunte Culpepper accept a phone call from the New England Patriots?

Quarterback
Daunte Culpepper - He announced his retirement but would he accept a phone call from the New England Patriots?
Chris Simms - According to a league source, his recent workout for the Baltimore Ravens didn't go very well.
Joey Harrington - He could be a decent backup.
Quinn Gray - He does have some limited starting experience but he's a No. 2 quarterback.
Brooks Bollinger - He's pretty much a No. 3 quarterback at this point in his career.
Jared Lorenzen - He has some upside as a No. 3 quarterback.
Tim Rattay - He's likely going to be a No. 3 quarterback for any team that wants to sign him.
Jamie Martin - We're told he still wants to play.
Craig Nall - He's likely going to be a No. 3 quarterback for any team that wants to sign him.
Matt Baker - He's likely going to be a No. 3 quarterback for any team that wants to sign him.

Running Back
Shaun Alexander - He struggled mightily last season and may have to wait awhile longer in order to find a new home.
Cedric Benson - Despite his misgivings, you're looking at a talented back who fits in a power rushing scheme.
Travis Henry - He might have a hard time finding a starting job again after what transpired over the last year with the Denver Broncos. And Henry reportedly failed a recent drug test which would have him suspended for a year.
Ron Dayne - Despite performing reasonably well for the Houston Texans the past two seasons, Dayne remains unemployed.
Mike Bell - He was with the Houston Texans for about a week but they waived him after he suffered a hamstring injury.
Kenny Irons - The former second-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals is coming back from ACL surgery.
Najeh Davenport - The bulky back should be able to find a job once some teams start to lose backs due to injury in training camp.
Ryan Moats - Lorenzo Booker will take over what was supposed to be his role as Brian Westbrook's backup.
Vernand Morency - He offers a team a third down role.
Noah Herron - He offers a team a third down role.
LaBrandon Toefield - The power back could handle a third running back role.

Anthony Thomas - The power runner is best suited to handle a No. 3 role at this point in his career.
Verron Haynes - The former Pittsburgh Steeler could handle a No. 3 running back role.
Clifton Dawson
Eric Shelton - The former second-round pick of the Carolina Panthers may have run out of chances after being waived by the Washington Redskins recently.
Samkon Gado - He worked out for the New England Patriots recently but it's believed he wasn't offered a contract.

Fullback
Andrew Pinnock - He has some starting experience.
Kyle Eckel - He's a decent backup fullback.
Regan Mauia - He started for the Miami Dolphins last season.

Terry Glenn - The Miami Dolphins have shown interest in him but not recently.
Joe Horn - He really only wants to play for a Super Bowl contending team.
Chad Jackson - He had tryouts for the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Oakland Raiders recently. Oakland may offer him a contract.
Roydell Williams - He caught 55 passes last season but Williams is still struggling coming back from a broken ankle.
Reche Caldwell - He fits in as a fourth receiver.
Eddie Kennison - He recently told Sirius NFL Radio that he's interested in playing at least two more seasons.
David Givens - His career is in doubt after suffering a serious knee injury almost two years ago.
Koren Robinson - The troubled but talented receiver should find work closer to the start of the regular season.
Cedrick Wilson - He'll serve a one-game suspension to start the regular season.
Doug Gabriel - He was recently released by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Tim Carter - He can run well in a straight line but catching the ball has been a problem.

Courtney Anderson - The Oakland Raiders once saw him as their tight end of the future. Since then, he's been with four other teams.
Aaron Walker - The Baltimore Ravens recently released the journeyman tight end.
Christian Fauria - He's strictly a blocking tight end. Working currently doing analysis on local television.
Teyo Johnson - Journeyman, No. 3 tight end who has been in and out of the league for a while.

Offensive Tackle
Luke Petitgout - He failed a team physical by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently.

Kelly Butler - He has starting experience at right tackle.
Jordan Black - The Houston Texans released him recently. Black is capable of backing up at right and left tackle.
Leander Jordan - The journeyman backup tackle was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Stockar McDougle - He's coming back from a torn Achilles tendon.

Guard

Chris Naeole - He has plenty of starting experience and with the Jacksonville Jaguars hurting at both guard spots due to injury, they could look to re-sign him.
Kynan Forney - He has 89 starts under his belt.
Toniu Fonoti - He was once one of the better young guards in the league but he's been with six teams in four years.
Milford Brown - He offers a team depth as a fourth guard.
Steve McKinney (C) - The veteran lineman could be a decent backup for a team.

LeCharles Bentley (G) - He recently visited the St. Louis Rams.

Jay Feely - He was released by the Chiefs after just one day.
Dave Rayner - He's been with a few teams in the past year or so.
Billy Cundiff - He was released by the Kansas City Chiefs recently. Because there's a lack of available talent at kicker, Cundiff should be able to find a job.
Connor Barth - He lost the kicking job in Kansas City to Nick Novak.
Justin Medlock - The St. Louis Rams recently released the former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs.
Aaron Elling - The kickoff specialist was recently released by the Oakland Raiders.
Morten Andersen - Even though he turned 48 recently, Andersen hasn't officially retired.

Punter
Scott Player - He spent a few weeks with the New England Patriots recently.
Josh Miller - He was recently released by the Tennessee Titans.
