Scouting Report: Ian Scott
Fla

Posted Dec 4, 2002

A hard working lineman, constantly around the action, Ian Scott has admirably filled the big shoes Gerard Warren left unfilled and though not the same top prospect, Scott is still a solid future NFLer in his own right.

Full Name: Ian Scott     School: Florida

Ht:  6-2.    Wt:  310          40:  5.08

Year: 3Jr    Number: 99

Stats/ Bio:

2001: Second-team All-SEC selection and All Academic performer.  Started 10 games and the Orange Bowl, recording 49/10.5/2.5

2000: Top backup behind Gerard Warren, playing in eight regular season games, totaling 14/2/0.

Scouting Report:

The Good: Tough, hard working, run stuffer on the inside.  Plays with forward lean, low to the ground and generally quick off the snap.  Focused and doubled by opponents yet holds his ground against blocks.  Works his hands nicely and always looking to get involved in the action, making positive plays.  Good head for the game.

The Bad: Not nifty, nimble nor is he a great athlete.  Better in a straight line as opposed to pursuing the action laterally.

The Skinny:  Nice interior size and plays with top intangibles (hustle, intelligence) but not spectacular or is he a lineman with great upside.
