The Colts were hovering at the five hundred mark at the mid-point of the season, but without Peyton Manning at the helm, they would almost assuredly be at the bottom of the pack within the division

Comments: Their skill level at a number of position has been severely diminished in recent years due to free agency, father-time and retirement, but don’t bet against this proud football club, particularly down the stretch. The Vikings, Texans, Patriots and Steelers were in position to put a stake in their (Colts) heart late in the game, but each time, they were rebuffed by this veteran outfit.

Head coach Tony Dungy, in likely his last season with the club, is just a class individual and a credit to the entire game of football. Assistant coaches Tom Moore, Howard Mudd, John Teerlinck, Ron Meeks and Rod Perry are just old pro who know and can teach the game of football. I’ve known Bill Pollian since he was a week-end warrior (associate scout) with the Chiefs. He is an excellent football guy, quite possibly the best in the business and is at a distinct advantage among his peers when it comes to evaluating personnel. The Colts don’t have a snowballs chance in hell of catching the Titans within the AFC South division, but I feel strongly that they little trouble qualifying as a wildcard spot in the seemingly watered down AFC.
