Scouting
Report
The
Good: Complete defensive lineman that has a long
history of injuries which will drop him down draft boards. Good
athlete and very strong at the point of attack.
Holds his ground against blocks, rarely off his feet and defeats opponents getting
up the field to rush the quarterback or moves laterally defending the run.
Heady, reads then anticipates the action and constantly around the
ball working to make positive
plays. Tough and goes very head for sixty minutes.
The
Bad: Not quick or explosive off the snap, lacks pursuit speed and a little stiff. Not
durable and spends a lot of time nursing injuries, most recently being sidelined by a broken ankle which ended his season
in the middle of October.
The
Skinny: At the top of
his game one of the better defensive ends in the draft but knee, neck and ankle problems
could leave him out of the first day next
April.
