The second annual New Orleans Bowl kicks off the 2002 post season and sees the return of the North Texas Mean Green, most notably the school that produced perennial All Pro Mean Joe Greene against the Cincinnati Bearcats, who end a competitive season.

New Orleans Bowl

Cincy  VS North-Texas

This game features a lot of free agent prospects as only the Bearcats of Cincinnati may hear their names called late in the draft.  Defensive end Antwan Peek could move into the middle rounds should he run well prior to April and would be a good fit for a three-four outside linebacker spot.  DeMarco McCleskey's name has been bandied about lately as the big interior running back has improved his hands and like his teammate, would benefit from good workouts prior to the draft.  Wide receiver LaDaris Vann has had a breakout season and hence, will get late round consideration while his counterpart Jon Olinger is also getting looks by pro-teams.

UNT offers defensive tackle Brandon Kennedy, a short and stout interior defender that plays with a relentless style, offering a solid run stuffer in the middle.  Don McGee is technically sound on the corner but does not always play up to his abilities.  Running back Kevin Galbreath, tight end Jeff Muenchow and wide receiver George Marshall are all free agent prospects.
