Ken Hamlin, the big rangy hard
hitting safety, has given inclinations that the December 30th Music City Bowl
against Minnesota, could be his last in a college uniform. A first team
SEC player in 2002, Hamlin led the Hog defense with 144 tackles, also
accumulating 5 tackles for loss, four interceptions and defending ten
passes.
The word has been "mum" on another
pair of Razorback juniors we've been tracking, running back Cedric Cobbs and
cornerback Lawrence Richardson, as to what there immediate plans will be.
TFY Analysis: Physically, no
safety in the nation can match-up with Hamlin; he is tough, aggressive and
fast. The question is will teams overlook his off the field woes (a pair
of DWI charges in a little more than a year) and select him where his
athletic/football talents warrant?
UPDATE- 11PM EST
Within the past few minutes we
have learned several news items on the Arkansas
underclassmen: Ken Hamlin has almost certainly made up his mind
that he is going to declare for the draft while running
back Cedric
Cobbs has decided to stay for his senior campaign, seemingly
wrapping up a busy day for the Razorbacks. Cobbs has told several people
close to him that "(I) need a big year next season to be a high
pick." Many feel Cobbs is presently Arkansas' third best ball carrier
as the feature runner has been beset with injury and off the field problems
since a tremendous freshman campaign.
