Comments - Mike Peterson is still a very solid football player and one of the defensive leader of this football club. The club would like to have back up safties Pierson Prioleau, Gerald Sensabaugh and reserve corner Scott Starks back next season, but since all are certainly replaceable, the Jaguars are only going to do so under their terms. Center Brad Meester (injured in each of the past two seasons) and injured reserve offensive guard Chris Naeole are particularly important when one considers the plight of the offensive line in 2008. I'm going to give the Jags a pass for last year's disasterious season, putting the bulk of the blame on the rash of injuries to the aforementioned offensive front, but there is little doubt that the clubs window of opportunity is closing quickly. In 2007 David Garrard was named the Jags starting quarterback, but after a very solid season, his play in 2008 left much to be desired. Unless he and the Jaguars can rebound significantly in 2009, both he and the veteran coaching staff are not likely to survive.
