According to a league source, unless the Washington Redskins re-sign LG Pete
Kendall prior to the start of free agency, they'll likely focus their
attention to Baltimore Ravens C Jason Brown.
Brown, who played guard earlier in his career, could yield a contract that puts him near the top paid guards in the league. New York Jets G Alan Faneca is the top paid player at his position on average per year basis (APY) at $8 million.
The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills are also believed to be interested in Brown. Another source said the St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to pass on signing him although they have an opening at center. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that the Minnesota Vikings are interested in Brown. However, sources told Scout.com that Brown wants to be paid as a guard.
As Scout.com noted over a year ago, Miami has been looking to upgrade their center position over Samson Satele.
Buffalo now has two openings on their offensive line at center and left guard.
Baltimore is said to be closing in on re-signing LB Bart Scott.
