Pitting a very talented Arkansas squad against on overachieving Minnesota team, the Music City Bowl is headlined by junior, juniors and yet more juniors with very few juniors expected to be drafted off these two rosters.

Two juniors have big choices to make with a third waiting in the wings.  Ken Hamlin would drastically improve the talent at safety were he to enter the draft as he is possibly the most complete centerfielder and a devastating run defender that more than holds his own in pass coverage.  Last we hear Hamlin was leaning towards throwing his hat into the ring.  On the other hand, its' been a downhill tumble for Cedric Cobbs after what was a sensational freshman campaign, as the power back with speed never fully recovered from a shoulder injury that kept him on the sidelines most of 2000.  To his credit Cobbs has stated publicly he will return to Arkansas next season and try to rebuild the draft ranking he previously had.  After that the Hogs have a lot of good athletes growing into football players.  Lawrence Richardson flashes the ability to be a shutdown corner and the underclassmen could be a very high pick in the future, Jason Peters, a former defensive lineman, has taken to tight end nicely and easily moves his 280+ pound frame around the field while senior defensive end Raymond House teases scouts at time with his ability to impact the game but displays little in the way of consistency.  Senior running back Fred Talley will get some late round looks as a back-up/special teams player.

Minnesota

The Golden Gopher senior class is very thin; tackle Jake Kuppe is an immobile lineman and not a dominant one at that, whose best position may be at guard while Antoine Burns is a nice sized receiver who did not take his game to the next level as was needed.  The top prospects would be a pair of junior pass catchers.  Ben Utech is a terrific receiving threat at tight end that must improve his blocking skills.  Were he healthy in 2002 and had the season expected Utech may well have been the nations number one tight end.  After a sub par campaign in which he only started nine games Utech said he will return to Minnesota next year.  Aaron Hosack is a huge target at 6-feet 5-inches and well over two-hundred pounds but lacks the deep speed or second gear. Making a huge impact after transferring from Mt. Sac JC, he is one to watch next season.  Also keep an eye on sophomore cornerback Ukee Dozier.
