Chris Steuber Ranking
#18 out of 357 overall
#4 at DE
Maybin is a playmaking defender who lacks the size necessary to be an every down DE, but he could become a tremendous force as a 3-4 OLB. He has a great frame, but has to add to add bulk to compete at the next level. He has a quick first step, uses his speed to his advantage and is able to harass the quarterback by using his long wingspan against a tackle. He moves well laterally and changes direction smoothly.
Tom Marino's Ranking
#11 out of 501 overall
#2 at DE
Adam Caplan's Flash Analysis Buffalo has a clear need for a pass rusher and they were looking at Maybin and Everette Brown with his selection. They chose the upside with Maybin instead of the safest move with Brown. Maybin had second-round grade from some teams because he often overruns plays and gets caught out of position from time to time. But his production last season at Penn St. can't be ignored. His upside is huge.
