I really wasn't particularly high on Panthers 2009 draft, believing they did little to upgrade the club on either side of the ball. Everette Brown had an up and down junior season and for the record doesn't come near to the caliber of player produced by Florida State at the defensive end position. I liked Martin' size, range and ability to effectively come up and fill the ally. Mike Goodson has speed and at times I felt he was a force, but he was far to inconsistent and prone to injury. The rest of the group ware severely flawed in my opinion. Looking for a silver lining, well than look no further than the clubs within the NFC South division where two other clubs (New Orleans and Tampa Bay) matched the Panthers "D" draft grade.
