The Rams liked Smith' overall toughness over that of Monroe and when coupled with a repaired patella tendon injury to the UVA star which will require monitoring and maintainence, made the selection a slam dunk. Laurinaitis gives the Rams a much needed legitimate inside run stopper while Fletcher affords then some much needed match up potential on the outside. I was actually rather disappointed in his play. In just his first season as a starter, I thought he was tough and physical, but I felt he was rather tight in the hips and struggled in coverage. He also didn't appear to sort things out quickly. I really like the selection of Clemson's Dorell Scott in round four and inside receiving prospect Brooks Foster in round five. The selection of Keith Null was a surprise (I would have pushed for Graham Harrell with this selection), but overall I felt the Rams made some real strides at upgrading their football club.
