Strengths: Lindley is an athletic cover corner who has great playmaking potential. He plays larger than his listed size, isn’t afraid of contact and defends against the run. He jams the opposition at the line, transitions well with receivers and displays good footwork throughout the route. He has a great sense of timing, breaks well on the ball and has good ball skills. He’s more than willing to take on a bigger opponent in the open field and make a tackle.
Weaknesses: He has to get stronger and improve his work habits. He’s inconsistent in coverage and lacks discipline. Durability is a concern.Steuber Says: After receiving a first day grade after his junior campaign, Lindley decided to stay in school and improve his game. Lindley failed to impress as a senior and actually regressed. He played in just nine games in 2009 and recorded just one interception. Scouts are concerned about his inconsistent play and his tendency to disappear during a game. The draft is deep in the secondary, and with all of the underclassmen who declared, Lindley’s stock has plummeted and he could fall into the fourth round.
