After putting together a solid week of practice at the Senior Bowl, Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour has had a controversial offseason, which was highlighted by his decision not to throw at the Scouting Combine. And his decision not to throw in Indianapolis put even more pressure on LeFevour to perform at his Pro Day on March 24th.

LeFevour has had an up-and-down offseason, but is still receiving plenty of interest.

LeFevour received mixed reviews from his Pro Day; scouts want to see him improve his footwork in his drops and throwing the deep ball. But a lot of LeFevour’s flaws are correctable, and it won’t prevent teams from taking him in the late second, early third round.
has learned that three teams, the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans, are showing a strong interest in the former Chippewas signal caller - the Panthers and Bengals have scheduled a private workout with LeFevour, and the Titans are hosting him in Tennessee next month.

The Bengals, Panthers and Titans have their starting quarterbacks in place for the 2010 season, but the facts are that Carson Palmer has been injury prone, Matt Moore is unproven and has never been the main attraction entering a season and Vince Young, just two years ago, contemplated his football future and considered retiring. Beyond the aforementioned starters, the depth charts at quarterback for each of the three teams are rather thin, and drafting LeFevour would give one of the teams a solid developmental quarterback to groom for the future.

Interestingly enough, LeFevour and Young share a prestigious NCAA milestone; they’re the only two quarterbacks in NCAA history to throw for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in a single season.

A four-year starter at Central Michigan, LeFevour distinguished himself as one of college football’s most exciting field generals and showcased the ability to beat a defense with his arm and legs. LeFevour finished his illustrious career with a 66.4 completion percentage while throwing for 12,905 yards, 102 touchdowns and 36 interceptions, not to mention his 2,948 rushing yards and 49 touchdowns.

LeFevour is currently the 4th rated quarterback listed on’s 2010 NFL Draft Rankings.
