Pre-Draft Team Needs: Dallas Cowboys

Dallas has been quiet through free agency thus far. It could mean that they believe they are in decent shape as far as their starting lineup is concerned from both sides of the ball.

Players Added

None.

Dallas has a bunch of restricted free agents that they are expected to bring back, but they haven't signed any free agents from other teams, which some feel has been a surprise.

Players Lost

Flozell Adams/OLT - He turns 35 in May and carried a $2.5 million roster bonus (due in June). Adams was due a total of $7.5 million for 2010 and was signed through 2013. While fourth-year OT Doug Free has upside, it remains to be seen if he's ready to take over full-time for the veteran offensive lineman.

Montrae Holland/G - He's not expected to be re-signed. Holland was inactive all last season.

Shaun Suisham/K - He was a restricted free agent, but wasn't tendered, so he's free to sign anywhere. David Buehler and Connor Hughes are the remaining kickers on Dallas' 80-man roster.

Ken Hamlin/S - Like Adams, he carried a high base salary for 2010. Backup DB Alan Ball will temporarily replace him, but look for the team to also address free safety in this year's draft.

Pre-Draft Team Needs

1) Left Tackle - With the release of Adams, look for the team to address the position. Some personnel evaluators believe Free is better off at right tackle.

2) Free Safety - With Hamlin gone, free safety now becomes a problem position for the team. Ball probably is better off as a backup at this point.

3) Strong Safety - Starter Gerald Sensabaugh is on a one-year restricted free agent tender, so his future isn't exactly clear. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if the team drafted strong safety who could challenge Sensabaugh.
