Players Added
Chad Jackson/WR - The former second-round pick of the New England
Patriots will get yet another chance to stick with a team. Buffalo is in dire
need of help at receiver, so Jackson actually has a decent shot of making their
final roster coming out of the preseason.
Cornell Green/OL - As of now, the journeyman offensive lineman appears to
be their starting right tackle.
Dwan Edwards/DL - He'll fit right in with Buffalo's new 3-4 defensive
scheme.
Andra Davis/LB - Davis will start right next to Paul Posluszny.
Players Lost
Gibran Hamdan/QB - He wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent.
Terrell Owens/WR - Owens may still commands double teams, but some
believe he's no longer an elite talent.
Josh Reed/WR - He fits in as a slot receiver.
Justin Jenkins/WR - He was one of Buffalo's top special teams players for
the past few seasons.
Seth McKinney/G - He's capable of playing guard or center primarily in a
backup role.
Richie Incognito/G - It appears that he'll be able to compete for a
starting job with the Miami Dolphins.
Kendall Simmons/G - At this point in his career, Simmons appears to be a
backup. He received some interest from the Arizona Cardinals recently.
Jonathan Scott/OT - He'll be a backup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ryan Denney/DE - He probably doesn't fit in with a 3-4 scheme.
Chris Draft/LB - The smart veteran linebacker can play all three
linebacker positions.
Todd Johnson/S - The journeyman safety has extensive experience playing
in the Cover-2.
Pre-Draft Team Needs
Outside Linebacker - With the move to the 3-4, this need is in need of pass
rushers who fit this scheme.
Left Tackle - While Demetrius Bell has some upside, he doesn't appear to be the
answer at this position.
Wide Receiver - With Owens out of the picture, they need to need a younger
receiver with size to play opposite Lee Evans. James Hardy doesn't run nearly as
well as is needed.
Quarterback - This team simply needs to decide who will be the future at this
position. But that future is now, not down the road.
