Mock Draft Version 1.0
1) St. Louis Rams: Sam Bradford/QB/Oklahoma
First Mock Selection: Sam Bradford/QB/Oklahoma
Analysis: Again, as long as he checks out medically, Bradford is the guy.
They have to get their quarterback of the future out of this draft.
Needs: QB, TE, DE, TE, WLB, CB, ORT, RB
Other Possibilities: Gerald McCoy. He probably fits in their scheme a
little better than Suh.
2) Detroit Lions: Gerald McCoy/DT/Oklahoma
First Mock Selection: Gerald McCoy/DT/Oklahoma
Analysis: McCoy seems to be a better fit for their defensive scheme.
However, it wouldn't be a surprise at all if they went with Suh here.
Needs: CB, S, G, DE, DT
Other Possibilities: Ndamukong Suh. He's certainly capable of playing in
Detroit's one-gap scheme.
3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ndamukong Suh/DT/Nebraska
First Mock Selection: Ndamukong Suh/DT/Nebraska
Analysis: There's simply no way they pass him up based on need and his
talent.
Needs: WR, DE, CB, DT
Other Possibilities: Gerald McCoy.
4) Washington Redskins: Trent Williams/OT/Oklahoma
First Mock Selection: Russell Okung/OT/Oklahoma St.
Analysis: It's believed the team has the more athletic Williams higher on
their draft board than Okung.
Needs: ORT, OLT, G, WR, DE, CB
Other Possibilities: Russell Okung.
5) Kansas City Chiefs: Russell Okung/OT/Oklahoma St.
First Mock Selection: Trent Williams/OT/Oklahoma
Analysis: They have to protect their major investment in QB Matt Cassel.
Needs: OT, G, OLB, TE, WR, CB, S
Other Possibilities: Trent Williams. Either way, they must significantly
improve their offensive line.
6) Seattle Seahawks: Derrick Morgan/DE/Georgia Tech
First Mock Selection: Derrick Morgan/DE/Georgia Tech
Analysis: They would have loved to get one of those top two offensive
tackles, so they'll settle for another big need.
Needs: OT, DE, SS, G, RB, WR
Other Possibilities: One of the two top offensive tackles.
7) Cleveland Browns: Eric Berry/S/Tennessee
First Mock Selection: Jimmy Clausen/QB/Notre Dame
Analysis: There's a belief in league circles that the team has their eye
on a few mid-round quarterbacks, so they'll pass on Clausen here. In defensive
coordinator Rob Ryan's system, he puts a lot on his safeties to cover ground.
Berry covers ground better than any safety in this draft. He also can play slot
cornerback.
Needs: OLB, QB, RB, WR, FS
Other Possibilities: Jimmy Clausen. A trade down to acquire extra picks
wouldn't be a surprise considering how much help this team needs on both sides
of the ball.
8) Oakland Raiders: Jason Pierre-Paul/DE/South Florida
First Mock Selection: Eric Berry/S/Tennessee
Analysis: Owner Al Davis loves athletic talent and Pierre-Paul has plenty
of that. He also would fill a need.
Needs: DT, ORT, OLT, DE, QB
Other Possibilities: Eric Berry, Derrick Morgan.
9) Buffalo Bills: Dan Williams/DT/Tennessee
First Mock Selection: C.J. Spiller/RB/Clemson
Analysis: Here's your new nose tackle in Buffalo's 3-4 defensive scheme.
They can get their developmental quarterback later on.
Needs: OLB, OLT, DT, WR, QB
Other Possibilities: C.J. Spiller, Jimmy Clausen.
10) Jacksonville Jaguars: Joe Haden/CB/Florida
First Mock Selection: Joe Haden/CB/Florida
Analysis: They must improve their shaky secondary.
Needs: WR, QB, DE, CB
Other Possibilities: Jimmy Clausen, Earl Thomas.
11) Denver Broncos (from Chicago Bears): Rolando McClain/LB/Alabama
First Mock Selection: Rolando McClain/LB/Alabama
Analysis: After the surprising release of veteran ILB Andra Davis,
they'll look to replace him here.
Needs: WR, ILB
Other Possibilities: Dez Bryant.
12) Miami Dolphins: Brandon Graham/DE-OLB/Michigan
First Mock Selection: Brandon Graham/DE-OLB/Michigan
Analysis: They must replace Joey Porter and Jason Taylor's production as
pass rushers.
Needs: OLB, WR, FS, RB
Other Possibilities: Earl Thomas, C.J. Spiller. They don't own a second
round pick, so it wouldn't be a surprise if Miami traded down a bit.
13) San Francisco 49ers: C.J. Spiller/RB/Clemson
First Mock Selection: Bryan Bulaga/OT/Iowa
Analysis: Tough call here as there are three players on the board who
could fill needs. It certainly would be a surprise if Spiller dropped down this
far. Getting speed at running back is a huge need. Spiller also could help
upgrade their return game.
Needs: ORT, CB, RB, OLB
Other Possibilities: Bryan Bulaga, Brandon Graham, best cornerback.
14) Seattle Seahawks (from Denver Broncos): Earl Thomas/S/Texas
First Mock Selection: Earl Thomas/S/Texas

Other Possibilities: Bryan Bulaga, C.J Spiller.

Needs: DE, CB
Other Possibilities: Any defensive end that slips.
17) San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina Panthers): Anthony
Davis/OT/Rutgers
First Mock Selection: Kyle Wilson/CB/Boise St.
Analysis: Joe Staley can move to RT with Davis in the fold.
Needs: ORT, CB, OLB, RB
Other Possibilities: Bryan Bulaga, if he drops. Jason McCourty.
18) Pittsburgh Steelers: Maurkice Pouncey/C/Florida
First Mock Selection: Maurkice Pouncey/C/Florida
Analysis: Pouncey would give them youth and an upgrade for the interior
of their offensive line.
Needs: WR, C, G, CB, DE
Other Possibilities: Jared Odrick. They need to eventually to start
looking at Aaron Smith's successor. It remains to be seen if Ziggy Hood is that
guy.
19) Atlanta Falcons: Devin McCourty/CB/Rutgers
First Mock Selection: Jermaine Gresham/TE/Oklahoma

Other Possibilities: Dez Bryant, Jermaine Gresham, Ricky Sapp.
23) Green Bay Packers: Ricky Sapp/DE-OLB/Clemson
First Mock Selection: Anthony Davis/OT/Rutgers
Analysis: While Brad Jones was a nice surprise last season, Sapp would be
an even better pass rusher for the Packers.
Needs: CB, OLB, OLT
Other Possibilities: Kareem Jackson, Mike Iupati.
24) Philadelphia Eagles: Mike Iupati/OL/Idaho
First Mock Selection: Everson Griffen/DE-OLB/USC
Analysis: He can play guard or tackle.
Needs: CB, FS, C, DL, G
Other Possibilities: Everson Griffen, Jerry Hughes, trade up for Earl
Thomas, trade up for Maurkice Pouncey, Patrick Robinson. They could also trade down to select
Robinson or another cornerback.
25) Baltimore Ravens: Jermaine Gresham/TE/Oklahoma

Needs: RB, NT
Other Possibilities: Ryan Mathews, Patrick Robinson, Kareem Jackson.
29) New York Jets: Kareem Jackson/CB/Alabama
First Mock Selection: Ricky Sapp/DE-OLB/Clemson
