Pre-Draft Needs: DE, CB
Round 1-Derrick Morgan/DE - Tennessee had no proven pass rushers coming into the draft, so Morgan will come right in and be expected to provide an immediate impact to their defense.
Round 3-Damian Williams/WR - This position wasn't one of need coming into the draft, so it was a small surprise that the Titans selected Williams in this round. It remains to be seen exactly where he fits in.
Round 3-Rennie Curran/LB - Curran is a technically sound player who figures to be one of Tennesee's top backup linebackers this season. He figures to compete for playing time at WLB or MLB this season.
Round 4-Alterraun Verner/CB - The Titans have poor depth at this position, so Verner has a legitimate shot to make the team as a fourth or fifth cornerback.
Round 5-Robert Johnson/S - Veteran SS Chris Hope turns 30 this season, so Johnson, who has good size and range, could be his eventual replacement.
Round 6-Rusty Smith/QB - Smith is a big, strong-armed passer, but he needs a lot of work with his mechanics. He'll likely land on the practice squad this season where he'll get a chance to work on his overall game.
Round 6-Myron Rolle/S - The rookie has a legitimate chance to make the the roster this season as a fourth safety.
Round 7-Marc Mariani/WR - It's almost certain that the rookie will not make the team this season. Why? There are at least five receivers that have a much better chance of making it.
Round 7-David Howard/DT - The former Ivy League defensive player is seen as a long-shot to make Tennessee's 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.
Defensive End - While they added Morgan, depth remains a big issue at this
Cornerback - The team will have to find veteran CB Nick Harper's replacement from a bunch of unproven players.
