College: Florida State

Biography:

Clifton Dickson, a true sophomore, didn’t get much more than garbage time but did impress when he got a chance. This fall he moves into the backup position behind starter Broderick Bunkley at defensive tackle and he should see plenty of snaps. In high school at Miami (Fla.) Northwestern, the 6-foot-5 and 285 pound Dickson was an unmovable force that was rarely pushed off the line scrimmage. His size and strength makes him a perfect fit at nose-guard. As a senior in high school, he recorded 116 tackles and 21 sacks.

Rated a three-star prospect by The Insiders.com….Southeast Top 100 and Florida Top 100… voted on of Florida’s Super 75 by the Times- Union… one of Florida’s Top 100 according to the Orlando Sentinel… as a senior he recorded 116 tackles, 21 sacks, three forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries… his Northwestern team lost in the 6A state semifinals to eventual state champion Norland this year… a participant in the 2003 California-Florida Bowl… his junior year he tallied 115 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 16 sacks as he earned All-County honors… he also scored three TD’s as a fullback… has good size and comes off the ball extremely well… chose Florida State over Miami, Ohio State and NC State
