A solid weak-side linebacker prospect, Ellison has improved the past two seasons and offers a good degree of upside. May start as a special-teams player and could see action in nickel packages.


Biography:
Junior college transfer who started the past two seasons. Senior totals included 99/14.5/5 after 67/10.5/4 as a junior, when he won All-Conference honors.

OSU: In two years he established himself as one of the premier linebackers in the Pac-10 Conference...2005 First team All-Pac-10 after earning Honorable Mention honors in 2004...transferred to OSU after one year at El Camino College...began his career at San Diego State, where he played in 2002...finished fourth in the Pac-10 in 2005 with a 9.0 tackles per game average...one of three team captains in 2005...finished second on the team in 1999 with 99 tackles and led the team for tackles-for-loss with 15 (4th best at OSU for a single season)...he started all 23 games of his Beaver career...his 25.5. tackles-for-loss for his career ranks ninth all-time at OSU.

EL CAMINO: Keith was a second team All-American selection by JC Grid-Wire...in his one season he made 115 tackles and six interceptions...an All-Mission Conference and all-state JC selection...he played for head coach John Featherstone...former Beavers DeLawrence Grant, LaDairis Jackson and Tevita Moala all attended El Camino.

SAN DIEGO STATE: Keith signed a letter of intent after his prep career to attend San Diego State...while with the Aztecs his position coach was former OSU linebackers coach Charlie Camp...played in 11 of the team’s 13 games as a true-freshman and recorded 34 tackles, the 13th-highest total on the team...he transferred to El Camino after Camp left to join Mike Riley at OSU.

REDONDO: Keith played quarterback, linebacker and safety during his prep career...he started two seasons and as a senior produced 1,300-plus yards passing and another 900-plus yards rushing...played for head coach Gene Simon... named the Bay League’s Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after making 103 tackles and three interceptions...All-Bay League and All-CIF as a senior...also started four years in basketball as the team’s point guard.

PERSONAL: Born in Los Angeles...son of Charles Ellison and Judy Reisner...has two brothers, Chris and Kevin, and one sister, Camille...Chris played football at BYU for two seasons...his cousin Dominic Ellison played basketball at Washington State and New Mexico State...favorite athlete is Jerry Rice...majored in history.
