Biography:
If there was any such thing as Mr. Bronco that would describe Mark. Mark is the ultimate Bronco. In his career he has taken great pride in being a Bronco on and off the field and on the field he has excelled and became a leader early in his career. He has a 23-game win streak heading into the 2005 season, 15 games graded 80% or better, last season he led the team in pancakes with 8 and was second in knockdown blocks with 17. Of his 15 games graded 80% or better he has 5 games graded at 90% or better. Against Toledo he had 3 knockdowns and graded an astonishing 101%. With 4 knockdowns and 2 pancakes at Central Michigan Mark graded 91%. His other 90% or better grades are 98% vs. NIU, 92% vs. Tennessee-Martin and Illinois. In 720 plays opponents were only able to get 1 sack against Mark. Mark was selected game captain against VT, UT, NIU, BGSU, Miami and Marshall. Phil Steele selected him as a preseason All-MAC. He didn't miss a team practice all season long. In 2003 Mark started all 12 games as the right guard. He was second on the team with 6 knockdown blocks, had 5 games graded in at 80% or better including a 98% grade against Ball State with a pancake and a knockdown block. His 98% grade was the highest on the team in 2003. He also graded in at 84% against Bowling Green. The Broncos gained 638 offensive yards against William & Mary with Mark playing a big role in that effort. He led the offensive line to a strong effort where the Broncos were able to have 4 consecutive 300-yard passing games. In 2002 Mark filled in for an injured Keving Kramer at Central Michigan where he played in 55 plays and graded in at 87%. He managed to play in every game including blocking on extra points and did not miss a single practice all season long. Mark started his career at WMU by redshirting but failed to miss a single practice. In high school Mark earned a selection to the Detroit Free Press All-State First Team and a #30 ranking on the Detroit News Blue Chip list. Vandelaysports.com ranked him as the higest-rated offensive lineman recruit in the MAC and the USA Today had him as a player to watch. He was a 3-year varsity heavyweight wrester and captained his team. Mark is working on a Criminal Justice major.
