2006: Did not attend team's off-season workout program, which started March 20, reportedly in protest of team's signing of unrestricted free agent Marquand Manuel.

2005: Started all 16 games for second time in six-year career. ... Improved his tackling from previous season and finished with 105 stops, second on the team to linebacker Nick Barnett. ... Had two interceptions, but dropped a few other potential pickoffs. ... Committed three penalties (one illegal contact, one hold, one pass interference). 2004: Made 85 tackles (62 solo), third on the team and first among defensive backs, and had 3 1/2 sacks and three passes defensed in all 16 regular season games (15 starts). ... Won the starting strong safety spot over Marques Anderson with a strong training camp performance. Joined the Packers as an unrestricted free agent March 24. ... Signed a three-year contract worth about $2.8 million on March 23. It included a $700,000 signing bonus.

2003: Started all 16 games for Cincinnati for the first time. He was fifth on the Bengals with 74 tackles, 62 of them solo, last year. A second-round draft pick out of Louisiana State by Cincinnati, Roman will be challenged by Marques Anderson for the starting spot next to Darren Sharper. ... Resides in Baton Rouge, La., in the off-season. ... Played cornerback in his first three seasons with the Bengals, including eight starts at left cornerback during the 2001 season. He became the full-time starter at free safety in 2003, and played slot cornerback on passing downs.
