A hard-working strong-side tackle prospect, Carnahan must physically fill out and start to show some durability to have any chance of succeeding at the next level.


Biography:

Four-year starter at right tackle awarded All-Conference honors after his sophomore campaign. Missed half his senior season after a major knee injury.

Pos:

Big, strong right tackle prospect with both size and growth potential. Stout at the point, controls opponents with his hands and displays good punch. Keeps his feet moving, makes effective use of blocking angles and engulfs opponents. Intelligent, keeps his head on a swivel and stays with blocking assignments. Flashes some nastiness and attacks assignments.

Neg:

Struggles adjusting, lacks lateral blocking range and has difficulty stopping speedy pass rushers. Late off the snap into blocks, not light on his feet and marginally effective in space.

2005-He received the Outstanding Offensive Lineman of the year award, earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors, and named to ESPN.com's All Mayday Team, honoring player who have demonstrated exemplary toughness throughout the season. He also contributed to ASU's offense who came in first in the Pac-10 and third in the nation for passing yards per year and recognized as a Hard Hat Player, for the second year in a row, for his work during the winter strength and conditioning program. Academically he earned second-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors, with a 3.42 gpa.

2004-He contributed to ASU's passing offense who led the Pac-10 and ranked 5th in the nation with 317.3 yards per game. He shared the Clyde B. Smith Academic Award with Jason Burke, named honorable-mention Pac-10 All-Academic team, and earned second-team All-Pac-10 honors.

2003-Was on the Sporting News Pac-10 All-Freshman Team. He also started in all 12 games while red-shirted and contributed to an offense that ranked 3rd in the Pac-10 for sacks allowed at 24.

2002-Was red-shirted for the season.
