A compact ball carrier with nice size, Hobbs has recently watched his play regress. Projects as a rotational ball carrier/short-yardage back.

Biography:

Broke into the starting lineup as a freshman and has played with the first team ever since. Senior rushing totals were 145/665/7 with 15/148 as a receiver. Played in two games during the ‘05 season, before being sidelined with a groin injury. Made a major impact as a freshman, with career-best totals of 1,029 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.

Pos:

Patient back, effective running on the inside. Waits for blocks to develop, finds the running lanes and weaves through the traffic on the inside. Shows terrific vision, follows blocks anywhere on the field and is a solid receiver out of backfield. Picks up blocking assignments and works until the whistle blows.

Neg:

Slow adjusting off the initial hit and does not run with great balance. Lacks a burst through the hole and is not very elusive.
