Coming back from the knee injury that sidelined him in ‘05, Heyer offers adequate skills. Must improve his run-blocking strength and learn to play with leverage, yet a potential back-up.

Biography:

Three-year starter at tackle given All-Conference mention as a senior. Sat out the ’05 season after tearing a ligament in his left knee.

Pos:

Nice-sized position blocker who stands out in pass protection. Makes effective use of angles, body positioning and hand technique. Shows the ability to slide out off the edge, adjust to defenders as well as block on the second level. Explosive at the point, stays square and plays with a good degree of quickness.

Neg:

Lacks the dominant base and rarely gets movement from run blocks. Does not show top balance and falls off blocks.
