| A game breaking running back who consistently picks up huge chunks of yardage every time he touches the ball, Buckley reminds us of former first-round pick Trung Canidate with his ability to hit the hole then run to daylight. A better overall football player at this point compared to Canidate, Buckley projects as a change-of-pace back. |
| Biography: |
Junior college transfer awarded All-Conference honors the past two
years. Senior rushing totals included 215/1,204/7 when he also added
18 receptions. Junior numbers included 217/1,233/11 on the ground.
Pos:
Undersized ball carrier who consistently breaks games open. Runs
with excellent balance, body control and has a burst of speed.
Switches it on through the hole and easily runs to daylight if given a
small amount of open space. Shifts gears anywhere on the field, does
an outstanding job using his blocks and shows the ability to quickly
cut back without losing any momentum. Strong for his size, has
defenders bouncing off him and rarely goes down on the first hit.
Weaves through the traffic on the inside and finds the open spot in
the defense. Picks up blitzes as a blocker.
Neg:
Does not have the body to take a consistent pounding at the next
level. Marginal pass catcher out of the backfield. Timed poorly at the
combine. |
