| As a senior team captain, James moved from the weakside to the middle and garnered All-America honors from The Sporting News and the American Football Coaches Association. He was also a semifinalist for the Butkus Award - given annually to the nation's top linebacker - and the Lombardi Award - given annually to the nation's top lineman. An All-SEC pick, James set the LSU single-season tackle record with 154 while adding three sacks, 10 stops for losses of 32 yards, 18 quarterback pressures, three passes defensed and an interception. |
