Biography:
Coming into the 2001 season, there were plenty of guesses who the top four receivers would be after both the starting and back-up receivers had used up their eligibility. Lots of names were thrown around, but not many fans predicted Michael Jenkins to start. Not only did he start, but he became the team's #1 receiver, pulling down 49 catches for 988 yards and 3 TDs. Michael (above, Allsport photo) showed the ability to make the big plays as well as the shorter pass routes. He has a tall and lanky build, but he has good speed for his size and causes problems for defenders. Coming into 2002, he is expected once again to be a key contributor in the offense. Majoring in business.
